In the middle of Bolzano, on Piazza Municipio, a new place has taken shape that invites both play and reflection. Four porphyry seating elements, sourced from different regions of South Tyrol, bring children's rights into the public space. Their different colours and heights speak to different age groups and create an inclusive setting where children, young people and adults can meet at eye level. Drawing on classic children's games, the geometric forms give the square a playful lightness. At the same time, the porphyry blocks carry messages from the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in several languages: equality, protection, participation. A topic too often confined to paper now holds a steady place in the heart of the city. The Children's Rights Square was realised together with the City of Bolzano, VKE, the Children's and Youth Ombudsperson, and the graphic design studio Idee und Form.
