The Landscape Development Program for the municipality of Branzoll is part of the legally mandated Municipal Development Program for Spatial Planning and Landscape (GProRL) under Provincial Law 9/2018. With active involvement from the local population, a strategic vision was developed for the sustainable design of green and open spaces within the settlement areas, as well as for natural and cultural landscapes, extending to 2040.
Building on a current situation analysis, the program defines objectives and a total of 32 concrete measures in the areas of quality of life through public open spaces, climate adaptation, biodiversity, and raising public awareness. The measures are aligned with the South Tyrol Climate Plan 2040 and aim to strengthen Branzoll as a green, climate-resilient municipality that uses its open spaces as social meeting points and systematically enhances ecological functions.
In close coordination with the sectors of settlement, mobility, and tourism, integrative strategies are being developed—from the de-sealing and greening of public squares, through the creation of continuous green corridors, to the natural design of waterways. A particular focus is on linking climate adaptation, biodiversity promotion, and the social usability of public spaces for all generations.
