The Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for the Municipal Development Programme of Völs ensures that ecological aspects are integrated into strategic planning at an early stage. It is based on EU Directive 2001/42/EC on the assessment of the effects of certain plans and programmes on the environment.

Our work included a comprehensive analysis of existing environmental conditions and an assessment of the potential impacts of planned developments on nature, landscape, climate and resources. In close coordination with the planning team and the municipal administration, the objectives and measures of the Municipal Development Programme were evaluated for their environmental compatibility and optimisation proposals were developed.

The SEA thus provides an important basis for the sustainable and future-oriented development of the municipality. All environmental assessments are carried out in interdisciplinary collaboration between the departments of spatial and landscape planning, agronomy, and environmental sciences and biology.
