LIA (noun — association, confederation, alliance, guild)
Our name, LIA, comes from Ladin, the third language (alongside German and Italian) of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, our home base. To us, it signifies a group of like-minded people setting out on a shared journey. It perfectly reflects our studio: diverse in background, multilingual and multicultural, yet united by a common vision, mission, and values.
VISION
We are united by a shared ambition: to contribute meaningfully to the socio-ecological transformation of our time. We believe that collaborative practice is not just an organizational choice, but a design principle. We apply that principle outward, in our projects, and inward, continually questioning and evolving how we work together.
MISSION & VALUES
We are not neutral. The challenges of our time — environmental destruction, demographic change, spatial inequality, loss of biodiversity — are not abstract. They are visible in the landscapes and cities we work in every day. We see it as our responsibility to contribute positively to a socio-ecological compatible, healthy, and livable future and we believe that is not only necessary, but possible. That conviction is what brought us together and keep us going.
EXPERTISE
We support those seeking new paths towards more livable, resilient, and just environments. We work with municipalities, project developers, social initiatives, entrepreneurs, and private individuals: anyone navigating the transformation of their surroundings and the relations between space and the people who inhabit it.
